Draft\/Mouth<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

If at our most dangerous \/ we<\/p>\n\n\n\n

blink. If winter reveals itself<\/p>\n\n\n\n

like a soldier’s gibbous mouth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If rows of silos give way to fire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If Jonathan, <\/em>my father’s \/ ideal<\/p>\n\n\n\n

son. If evening, a painted face\/<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I could peel off. If speak. If<\/p>\n\n\n\n

with my own two hands, if<\/p>\n\n\n\n

stained \/ sky. If  for three days<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I pull and pull \/ the soft white<\/p>\n\n\n\n

thread of my name \/ from<\/p>\n\n\n\n

my father’s throat\/ as he registers<\/p>\n\n\n\n

me in the next room. If a house<\/p>\n\n\n\n

wraps itself in thread\/ until it is<\/p>\n\n\n\n

no longer a house \/ but<\/p>\n\n\n\n

rather the drafted boy \/ I might one<\/p>\n\n\n\n

day become. If no waning<\/p>\n\n\n\n

apology\/ in my father’s mouth,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

if no lifted tracks. If<\/p>\n\n\n\n

doused in  petrol \/  my mouth’s god like<\/p>\n\n\n\n

a field filled with silent \/<\/p>\n\n\n\n

children. If each twirls in the<\/p>\n\n\n\n

wind \/ until they lift apart. If<\/p>\n\n\n\n

match, if strike.<\/p>\n\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n
