You must have received an honorable discharge to be eligible for the Post 9\/11 GI Bill\u00ae. Your benefit will be based on your length of active duty service.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"gb-container gb-container-c1bb20f5 alignwide\">\n\n<a class=\"gb-button gb-button-e69154cc gb-button-text\" href=\"https:\/\/www.benefits.va.gov\/gibill\/post911_gibill.asp\">Post 9\/11 GI Bill\u00ae<\/a>\n\n<\/div>\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"2\">Transfer of Post 9\/11 GI Bill\u00ae Benefits to Dependents (TEB)<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The transferability option under the Post-9\/11 GI Bill\u00ae allows Service members to transfer all or some unused benefits to their spouse or dependent children.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The request to transfer unused GI Bill\u00ae benefits to eligible dependents must be completed while serving as an active member of the Armed Forces.&nbsp; The Department of Defense (DoD) determines whether or not you can transfer benefits to your family.
