The Florence & Earle Stewart Book and Cultural Event Scholarship is offered to students at Eastern Washington University as a way “for students to begin building a personal lifetime library or to experience cultural activities to the symphony, theater, etc.”
Books awarded by this scholarship fund are intended to for personal enrichment of recipient’s personal library and not an academic textbook. Full-time EWU students can apply for scholarship funds up to the maximum award amount to receive one of the following:
One or two books
One ticket to a cultural event plus one book
One ticket to a cultural event
The Application Portal will open on first day of each quarter.
Receiving Your Award
Fall term 2019 deadlines
- Sept., 25th - portal will open to accept applications.
- Oct. 18th at 4:30 p.m., the application portal will close. Incomplete or late applications may not be processed.
- By Nov. 8th, University College staff will e-mail each applicant to notify them they were approved by Committee to receive an award. University College staff will notify EWU Bookstore of the approved book(s) to be ordered for each student.
- Dec. 13th is the deadline for the EWU student to submit their receipt for reimbursement of event ticket they purchased, according to their award approval e-mail from the Committee. If student will need additional time to submit their event ticket reimbursement request; please notify Mary Jo Van Bemmel (email@example.com).
