Throwback Thursday: 1962 Aerial View of Cadet Hall and the EWU Campus

Via an alumni tip, below is a 1962 aerial view of the Eastern Washington University campus.  For those that look closely on the mid-to-upper left of the image Cadet Hall can be seen on the hill above where the football field used to be.  Clearly the EWU campus has expanded significantly in the past 56 years.  If any alumni have any historical pictures they want to share on the site feel free to email them to rotc@ewu.edu.  Go Fighting Eagles!

Throwback Thursday: EWU ROTC in Formation Back in 1967

From the archives of Eastern Washington University comes the below image of the The Fighting Eagle Battalion in formation at a parade field back in 1967.  Notice how back then the female Cadets wore white dresses and were called a “Sponsor Corps”.  We have come a long way as an Army.   Does any of our alumni recognize where this parade field was located at in the Cheney area?

Throwback Thursday: EWU ROTC Cadets Conduct Field Training Back in 1968

For this week’s Throwback Thursday, here is a picture of Eastern Washington University ROTC Cadets in action back in 1968.  Notice that the caption to the picture says that the EWU ROTC program in 1968 was the third largest in the country.  This was because back then every male on campus had to serve for two years in the ROTC program.  Do any EWU alumni from back then recognize anyone from the photo?
