  1. SGT Lynch,
A blast from the past. Nearly 40 years since we served together in 600th QM Co. Thank you for your kind comment. My career success was due to the great Soldiers with whom I was privileged to serve. Thanks, again.

I was a skinny Hawaiian drummer living on your floor in the dormitory. I had Gale Johnson as a roommate one semester, Doug Poulson the next and Jackson Ng the next.

We had a wild bunch of guys and Ken was the RA. I am so impressed with your success and accomplishments!

I went back to Hawaii to go to the University of Hawaii. Then Berklee College of Music and Manhattan School of Music.

I remember the streaking and food fights in the cafeteria. And I got my bed taken to the top floor!

I am producing a musical about service dogs helping veterans with PTSD.

Will save you orchestra seats when it opens!

        Forgot to check in!
Time has flew by. Now back in Hawaii waiting to get vaccinated then will head back to NYC. Covid 19 has changed our lives and brought more challenges. We had food fights in Tawanka and streakers to contend with!

  6. One of the greatest Commanders that I ever had the pleasure of serving under during my 24+ years in the US Army. A soldiers soldier who lead by example and trained beyond standard. He was an amazing Quartermaster General who implemented great changes to the food service program as well as other quartermaster MOS’s. He was also a great leader of 21st TSC in Kaiserslautern Germany where I served under him as one of his favorite Dining facility managers. Congratulations Sir, it is an honor well-deserved.

  7. Scott—I always knew you would do well. Having grown up in a military family, I have all the respect in the world for your career choice. I don’t know if you were aware, but after my dad died, if my mom had decided to go back to England, your folks had offered to let me live with your family and finish school in Moses Lake…it would have been interesting. Always your buddy Scott…..Dale

  8. All of these comments are TRUE and accurate. I too had the distinct pleasure serving with and striving to be 1/2 the soldier this great American patriot exemplified each and every day. Your sense of humor was always appreciated when “we were embracing the suck” during our frequent readiness training “goat rope clusters”. Many of your sayings (Westisms) earned a spot “in the book”. Congratulations Sir!

  10. Scott, it’s been 40 years since we attended the QM Advanced Course together. I also ran into you at CGSC briefly in 1987. When we were in the QM. Advanced course together in 1982, the topic of, who is going to be the most successful in are class, came up. I made a prediction back then, to one of our classmates, John Angivine. Remember him Scott? I predicted that, if anyone was going to attain the rank of General Officer, it would be Captain Scott West. Congratulations Scott. Quite an achievement, to say the least Scott. One other thing, you have made a true profit out of me. I must have just missed you at Fort Wainwright. I worked for (ret) General Ward before retiring myself. Believe it or not, I continue to live in Alaska. Take care of yourself Scott, and give your spouse my best. Phillip (Phil) M. Jones…

  11. Gen West all of these folks know of your service and how honorably you served but, I think our time together in Alpha Co. 299 CSS tops them all when you were Cpt. West the hard charging Company Commander I learn to not come to you with a problem, unless you have a solution in hand, I went through 24 years of service and always remember these traits you instilled in me…..Thanks Msgt Nick
