EWU 602-02, Immunizations_Draft
Proponents: Vice Presidents for Student Affairs & Business & Finance
Proposed Changes:
- Modifies the current MMR requirement for students to require documentation of vaccinations from incoming students rather than all students.
- Extends the deadline for employees to provide documentation of the required MMR vaccinations to December 31, 2021, rather than June 30, 2020.

Hello. More information is needed for the process in which the reporting will need to be done. What does it mean self-reporting? How will the doctor report the vaccinations?
Scharosch, Annika says
Information about the process for reporting will be provided by Human Resources to employees. EWU currently uses an outside vendor, MedProctor, for collecting these records. Employees will be required to upload their vaccination records into the MedProctor system.

Does EWU anticipate expanding this policy to cover other diseases or illnesses, or using this policy as a template to create a COVID vaccination policy?
Scharosch, Annika says
This policy was renamed in late 2019/early 2020 to include the broader title of “immunizations” rather than “MMR.” The thought at that point was that it could be expanded to cover other immunizations in the future if EWU wanted to require something more than a MMR vaccine. In terms of COVID-19, EWU is still considering whether or not to require a vaccine.
