Michelle Galey has 20 years of experience working in higher education at various colleges and universities in the Pacific Northwest as both an instructor and administrator, including serving as a director at Washington State University and an assistant director at EWU. Prior to joining EWU, Michelle served as chair and instructor for the College Skills Division at North Idaho College where she taught English, communication, and college success courses. In her role as division chair, she also managed the NIC Testing Center and NIC Peer Tutoring Center. In addition to her background in education, she worked as a communications and outreach professional for many years.
During Michelle’s career in higher ed, she has been heavily involved in new freshman programming, intrusive advising, cohort/learning communities, and early alert systems. She is a member of both CRLA and NADE and serves as a reviewer for CRLA’s International Tutor Training Program Certification (ITTPC).
