I finished writing <em>Interrogating Travel: Guidance from a Reluctant Tourist, <\/em>a first-person book of creative nonfiction. While visiting Albania, Austria, the Bahamas, Belize, Costa Rica, the Czech Republic, Denmark, France, French Polynesia, Hawai&#8217;i, Italy, Mexico, Norway, Singapore, Spain, and Thailand, I came to regard travel as the most poorly regulated industry on the planet.
