Enrolling in Responsible Conduct of Research Training<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI) provides subject-specific online courses in the responsible conduct of research. Completing the RCR course takes about 2 hours and fulfills the core or basic requirement for RCR training. CITI training must be completed prior to research beginning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To access CITI training modules log on to enroll in the RCR course at https:\/\/about.citiprogram.org\/en\/series\/responsible-conduct-of-research-rcr\/<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

If new to CITI, click Register:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \n
  1. Select EWU from the Participating Institutions <\/strong>drop down menu<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Create user name and password<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Select appropriate user group and course(s)<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. Complete the course(s)<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  5. When the course is completed, a copy of the certificate will be forwarded to the Office of Grant and Research Development. Print out a copy of the certificate for your records and provide a copy to the Principal Investigator or Project Director.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    Training certificates are valid for three years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The CITI program\u2019s RCR training contains a series of content specific course designed modules. All individuals who are required to take RCR training must complete the following basic modules:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    1. Introduction to RCR<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    2. Authorship<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    3. Collaborative Research<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    4. Conflicts of Interest<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    5. Data Management<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    6. Mentoring<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    7. Peer Review<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    8. Plagiarism<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    9. Research Misconduct<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

      In addition, based on individual research projects, participants will choose the additional appropriate module(s):<\/p>\n\n\n\n
