There is a lot you can do on your own to find potential funding. Before you start a search, consider these questions:
- What do you want to accomplish?
- What is the need for this project or research?
- Who will benefit from this project?
- What is your need for funding (salaries, equipment, travel)?
Start some online searches of professional organizations and associations in your field. Look at government agencies that fund other projects in your field. Check similar projects at other institutions to see who may have funded those projects.
To start a search on your own, below are some links to major governmental funding sources and internal funding sources available to faculty and staff.
