If you have expired or unwanted medicines, proper disposal is important and easy. The EWU Police Department has a MED-Project kiosk, which enables community members to drop their medications off at 609 W. 7th Street (the Red Barn).
They accept unwanted or expired medications in any dosage form, in their original container or sealed bag. They are not able to accept herbal remedies, vitamins, supplements, cosmetics, other personal care products, medical devices, batteries, mercury-containing thermometers, sharps, illicit drug or pet-pesticide products. To protect your privacy, patients are reminded to remove all personally identifiable information on medication labels or packaging before disposing of unwanted medicines.
Due to COVID-19, medication drop-off is by appointment, 8 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday-Friday.
