A music professor at Eastern Washington University is looking forward to a very exciting trip to New York City. Jody Graves, the director of piano studies at Eastern, will be inducted into the Steinway & Sons Teacher Hall of Fame later this month.

A letter from Steinway’s CEO announcing the impressive honor reads in part:

Your passionate commitment to teaching and inspiring young people in their study of piano music is commendable and rare. Through your efforts, you help students lay the foundation for a lifetime of musical and artistic expression.

Ron Losby, CEO, Steinway Musical Instruments

EWU is lucky to have Graves’ talents in the music department. As a solo and collaborative pianist, she has performed across the United States and around the world. Graves was nominated for induction into the Teacher Hall of Fame by the Steinway Piano Gallery in Spokane. She will attend a special ceremony at the historic New York Steinway factory in late October.
