Seven EWU Dental Hygiene students spent a Saturday morning supporting people in recovery.

The students participated in the Hands Across the Falls on Saturday, Sept. 28. They educated participants in how important oral health is to the recovery plan. Students let people know about EWU’s Dental Hygiene Clinic and how it can help them with some of their unmet needs. Students also participated in two minutes of silence to commemorate those who lost the battle of addiction.

Community engagement is at the heart of dental hygiene. The department has partnered with Community Minded Enterprises and Recovery Cafe to help people find a dental home. This was the third annual event and dental hygiene participates every year.
