The Viterbi Graduate Step Toward Engineering Programs (STEP) Workshop invites students to explore master\u2019s and doctoral degree programs during a 2-day workshop at the USC Viterbi School of Engineering in Los Angeles, CA.\u00a0During the Viterbi Graduate STEP Workshop, students from across the country can explore our\u00a0rich academic programs,\u00a0exciting research opportunities, world-class faculty, stellar student services, and valuable mentoring resources.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Also this year, Marianna was selected to participate in EWU\u2019s Technology Commercialization Academy (TCA)<\/a>, through the E-Ship Center<\/a>,\u00a0and received a CSTEM Undergraduate Research and Creative Activities Fund Award<\/a>. Waste to Watts: portable home generators that transform plastic into electricity won Third Place at the E-Ship Team Awards<\/a>. Marianna and her team, which includes Brayden Taylor, Avary Zachary, and Brandon Lewis, receiving $8,109.87 for their research and development.<\/p>\n

Since 2022, under faculty mentor, Dr.\u00a0Philip Appel<\/a>, Marianna has been developing a research project on small scale incinerators for energy generation. Her goal is to become an expert in small scale energy generation that is better for the environment and can be used off the grid, in space, and other novel uses.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
