Monica has been accepted to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pacificu.edu\">Pacific University\u2019s<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pacificu.edu\/academics\/colleges\/college-health-professions\/school-graduate-psychology\/ma-applied-psychological-science\">Master in Applied Psychological Science<\/a>\u00a0program.<\/p>\n<p>From the\u00a0Applied Psychological Science Master&#8217;s Program\u00a0website:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Students gain expertise regarding the impact of cultural, biological, social, emotional, cognitive and behavioral factors on psychological phenomena. Emphasis is placed on the development of a strong theoretical and empirical foundation and on clinical and methodological skills that can be utilized in a number of applied settings.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Monica will graduate from EWU in 2023, majoring in\u00a0Applied Developmental Psychology and minoring in Spanish, with a certificate in Child and Family Support. For her 2022 Summer Research Internship, her research with mentor <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ewu.edu\/cpp\/psychology\/contact-us\/\">Dr. Shanna Davis<\/a> explored the psychological effects of going to K-12 school in a language other than your first language.\u00a0We know Monica will bring positivity and sharp perception to any graduate program she attends, and achieve her dream of helping the Latinx\/Hispanic community access affordable mental health services.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Congratulations to EWU McNair Scholar Monica Miranda!
