Darlene&#8217;s EWU McNair research has focused on the chemical weathering of volcanic sediments under the mentorship of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ewu.edu\/cstem\/geology\/contact-us\/\">Dr. Carmen Nezat<\/a>. Darlene has presented on this project at the 2019 Murdock College Science Research Conference in Tacoma WA, the 2020 WE-STEM conference at EWU, and the EWU Virtual Symposium. More recently she presented <a href=\"https:\/\/dc.ewu.edu\/cgi\/viewcontent.cgi?article=1014&amp;context=srcw_2020_posters\"><em>Chemical Weathering of Deposits from the 1980 Mount St. Helens Eruption and its Effect on Stream Water Chemistry<\/em><\/a>\u00a0at the virtual\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/inside.ewu.edu\/mcnair\/nine-ewu-mcnair-scholars-present-at-baylor-mcnair-research-conference\/\">Baylor McNair Research Conference<\/a>.
