Noemi,<\/strong> a dedicated McNair student, attended the Imagining America National Gathering in Las Cruces, New Mexico, from October 3rd to 5th, 2025. At this national gathering, Noemi actively engaged in multiple presentations and played a pivotal role in fostering collaboration among students from various universities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the conference, Noemi shared their work through individual research presentations and participated as part of their NSF Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) panel. They also supported two fellow REU students as they led a workshop\/presentation, titled, \u20182025 Imagining America Gathering, Notas de Deshogo (*Letters\/Notes of Relief), \u2019exemplifying Noemi\u2019s commitment to peer collaboration and academic community-building.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Noemi\u2019s featured research, titled \u201cWomen Migrants and Borderland Artists from Juarez, Chihuahua on Immigration and More,\u201d is part of the 2025 NSF Research Experience for Undergraduates: Collaborative Site Program on Immigration Policy and US-Mexico Border Communities. Their work explores the experiences of women migrants and artists living along the border, offering insights into immigration policy and cultural expression in borderland regions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Beyond their academic pursuits, Noemi is passionate about singing, writing poetry and lyrics, and creating visual and sound art. Their creative works are regularly showcased in local art shows and open mics, allowing Noemi to connect with the community through music and artistic expression.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Noemi\u2019s involvement at the Imagining America Gathering highlights their dedication to research, collaboration, and creativity, making them a valued member of both academic and artistic communities. Great work, Noemi!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
