Ra\u00fal has been accepted to the <a href=\"https:\/\/education.uoregon.edu\/spsy\/graduate\/ms\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/education.uoregon.edu\/spsy\/graduate\/ms\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">University of Oregon Master of Science in School Psychology<\/a> Program. U of O&#8217;s School Psychology MS program is accredited as a specialist-level program by the National Association of School Psychologists.  <\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p><strong>Ra\u00fal Segura<\/strong>\u00a0is a first generation college student and an officer for\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/mecha.ewu?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y%3D\">MEChA (Movimiento Estudiantil Chicano De Aztlan)<\/a>, a campus organization that seeks to promote Chicano unity and empowerment through political action. He is an active member of the EWU Tennis Club, and a student employee at EWU\u2019s Student Communication Center, working on student outreach. Ra\u00fal is interested in a School Psychology career. Specifically, he seeks to create an optimal classroom environment for students and teachers of different cultural and ethnic backgrounds. For his 2024 McNair Summer Research Internship Ra\u00fal worked alongside his mentor,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ewu.edu\/cpp\/psychology\/contact-us\/\">Dr. Sarah Johansson<\/a>, and presented at the\u00a02024 <a href=\"https:\/\/inside.ewu.edu\/mcnair\/another-great-summer-of-research-at-mcnair\/\">McNair Summer Research Symposium<\/a>. Further research interests revolve around student teacher relationships in multicultural settings\u00a0and how they can create negative or positive impacts in the classroom, and how to create\u00a0 a culturally safe classroom environment.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Congratulations to McNair Scholar Ra\u00fal Segura!
