Theo Monet (he\/they)  is a first-generation transgender, disabled college student graduating in Spring 2027 with a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology. He founded The Anthropology Club at EWU in March 2026 and continues to serve as its president. Additionally, they are the secretary of the Disability, Advocacy, and Inclusion Club at EWU. In 2025, Theo held a paid position on the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Student Advisory board at EWU. Since 2025, Theo has conducted research at EWU for the anthropology department. From January-March of 2026, Theo conducted research on infrastructural violence and hostile design in Spokane and presented his findings and the Northwest Anthropological Conference. After that conference, Theo shifted their focus towards medical anthropology, and he is conducting research on the subject of psychiatry through a disability justice lens. His research interests include: critical medical anthropology, disabilities studies, social inequalities, gentrification, health policy, social movements, and ethnography. He aims to utilize his own experiences living without shelter as a disabled individual in his future career in advocacy and education. His long-term goal is to pursue a PhD in medical anthropology along with a master’s degree in public health as a foundation for future research, activism, and policy reform.<\/p>\n\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n
