The sample Syllabus link may be accessed through your EWU Google Drive account.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Full Template<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013 This template provides customizable pages, graphics, and a customizable home page. It is designed for those who have used Canvas previously and want more detail in their online courses.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Getting Started Module Template<\/strong> \u2013 This template removes all but the content in the Getting Started module of the Full Template course.&nbsp; Content includes information about university policies, support services, tools, and a page to personalize with course-specific information.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Sample Syllabus<\/strong> &#8211; This <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/document\/d\/1A9_jnAHka2HG238hANgSzNQU1cJQnSpIrof98tctJUQ\/edit?usp=sharing\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/document\/d\/1A9_jnAHka2HG238hANgSzNQU1cJQnSpIrof98tctJUQ\/edit?usp=sharing\" target=\"_blank\">template <\/a>provides a framework that includes all necessary components stated in EWU policy for a course Syllabus. To tailor it to your specific course information, just save a copy of the template and make the necessary modifications.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Course Review Process<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"gb-headline gb-headline-c531b63e gb-headline-text\">The&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/inside.ewu.edu\/instructional-technology\/course-review-information\/\">Course Review<\/a>&nbsp;service applies a standardized rubric to evaluate a course in Canvas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Enroll in the &#8216;Teaching Online for Faculty&#8217; course<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"gb-headline gb-headline-07a9df57 gb-headline-text\" id=\"learncanvas\">Teaching Online for Faculty is required for those teaching a distance education course at Eastern Washington University. Over the course of twelve modules, we will explore various concepts of online instruction, including using the Canvas learning management system, creating effective discussions, using and creating multimedia, accessibility tools, Universal Design for Learning, teacher presence, assessment, and student engagement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> <strong>NOTE<\/strong>: This course is <strong>required <\/strong>to teach online.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"gb-headline gb-headline-77b71569 gb-headline-text\" id=\"learncanvas\">You can <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/canvas.ewu.edu\/enroll\/WRLHMT\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/canvas.ewu.edu\/enroll\/WRLHMT\" target=\"_blank\">self-enroll<\/a> into this Canvas course.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Learning Canvas for Teachers<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>This optional course is best suited for new faculty and will introduce you to Canvas and a variety of the available features. By the end of the course, you should have an understanding of the Canvas toolset and have the skills needed for using Canvas with your classes &#8211; regardless of whether you intend to teach fully online or simply move a portion of your activities and lectures online.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can <a href=\"https:\/\/canvas.ewu.edu\/enroll\/R4KGD8\" data-type=\"URL\">self-enroll<\/a> into this Canvas course.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Online Student Orientation course<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"gb-headline gb-headline-f8e79d9c gb-headline-text\">This self-paced course is designed to help you become a successful online learner and acclimate to the online learning environment.
