Many programs are offered completely online, giving you the flexibility to do your coursework largely on your own schedule and at your own location. Here&#8217;s how it works:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Connect with course materials<\/strong> \u2013 From your computer, you\u2019ll connect either to an online learning management system such as Canvas or other resources such as Zoom and Google Drive. These web-based solutions allow you to access course materials, including recorded lectures, and interact with faculty and fellow classmates in online forums at any time.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Follow deadlines <\/strong>\u2013 As with a classroom course, you start and finish each online course with the rest of your cohort. All students have the same deadlines, and you will need to keep up with all lectures, readings, and assignments.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Participate on your schedule<\/strong> &#8211; Although there will be prescribed deadlines in your online courses, your participation can happen at any point within that timeframe, as your schedule permits. This allows maximum flexibility to complete coursework and achieve your education goals. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Technology Requirements<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The learning management system Canvas runs on Mac, Windows, and Linux operating systems.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/community.canvaslms.com\/docs\/DOC-10720-67952720329\" target=\"_blank\">This support page provides more information about current guidelines and links to downloads for current software versions. (Links to an external site.)<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Reliable high-speed internet connection (broadband recommended)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Webcam and microphone (recommended)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition, you may need access to one or more of the following tools and technologies for some courses: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Use of <a href=\"https:\/\/support.ewu.edu\/support\/solutions\/articles\/10000015651\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/support.ewu.edu\/a\/solutions\/articles\/10000015651\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Microsoft Office365<\/a> (e.g., Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.adobe.com\/acrobat\/pdf-reader.html\" type=\"URL\" id=\"https:\/\/www.adobe.com\/acrobat\/pdf-reader.html\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"broken_link\">Acrobat Reader<\/a>. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Some courses may require uploading self-recorded videos or audio files for assignments or other coursework.  <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You may be asked to participate in online collaboration using tools such as <a href=\"https:\/\/support.ewu.edu\/support\/solutions\/articles\/10000059316\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/support.ewu.edu\/a\/solutions\/articles\/10000059316\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">OneDrive <\/a>and\/or <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/support.ewu.edu\/support\/solutions\/articles\/10000044469-how-do-i-install-and-use-google-drive-\" target=\"_blank\">Google Drive<\/a>. Current students have access to EWU-created accounts in those products through SSO.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Researching information in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ewu.edu\/library\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Library <\/a>or using the <a href=\"https:\/\/research.ewu.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Library databases<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Online Student Orientation course<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"gb-headline gb-headline-f8e79d9c gb-headline-text\">This self-paced course is designed to help you become a successful online learner and acclimate to the online learning environment. The orientation will provide you with an introduction to your online courses and help you become familiar with the necessary tools to access course components, resources, and other information you need to succeed.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"gb-headline gb-headline-c2f71e1d gb-headline-text\">This is an <a href=\"https:\/\/canvas.ewu.edu\/courses\/1212635\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/canvas.ewu.edu\/courses\/1212635\">open course<\/a> conducted in Canvas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Technical Support<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Instructional Technology and Web Services (ITWS) will provide technical support via Zoom, phone, or email related to course access issues, technology questions, and other aspects of the Online Learning environment:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Zoom &#8211;
