In just a few minutes, you\u2019ll gain a deeper understanding of instructional tech tools such as Canvas, Panopto, Respondus, and Zoom, to name just a few. The 5-Minute Mastery library can be accessed <a href=\"https:\/\/inside.ewu.edu\/instructional-technology\/5-minute-mastery\/?repeat=w3tc\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Asynchronous Training Opportunties<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>All asynchronous trainings are available in the Canvas Learning Management System and are intended to allow you to work at your own pace. Content is module-based, with learning activities centered around short instructional videos, reading materials, assignments, and quizzes. Self-enroll links allow you to join courses in a student role, which in turn permits you to submit coursework.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Accessibility Training for Faculty and Staff<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"gb-headline gb-headline-f83873d5 gb-headline-text\"><a href=\"https:\/\/canvas.ewu.edu\/enroll\/GE48XC\">Self-enroll in Accessibility Training for Faculty and Staff <\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This optional course is for any faculty creating and\/or providing online content to students at Eastern Washington University. Over the course of&nbsp;6<strong>&nbsp;<\/strong>modules, we will explore various accessibility concepts, including: remediating PDF files in Adobe Acrobat, remediating Word documents, remediating PowerPoint presentations, and working with closed captions in Panopto.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Learning Canvas for Teachers <\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"gb-headline gb-headline-07a9df57 gb-headline-text\"><a href=\"https:\/\/canvas.ewu.edu\/enroll\/R4KGD8\">Self-enroll in Learning Canvas for Teachers<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This optional course is best suited for new faculty and will introduce you to Canvas and a variety of the available features. By the end of the course, you should have an understanding of the Canvas toolset and have the skills needed for using Canvas with your classes \u2013 regardless of whether you intend to teach fully online or simply move a portion of your activities and lectures online.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Teaching Online for Faculty <\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>NOTE: <\/strong>This course is <strong>required <\/strong>to teach online.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/canvas.ewu.edu\/enroll\/WRLHMT\" target=\"_blank\">Self-enroll in Teaching Online for Faculty<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Teaching Online for Faculty is required for those teaching a distance education course at Eastern Washington University.
