The play depicts faded Southern belle Blanche DuBois\u2019 attempt at grappling with her past, starting anew, and her struggle to maintain her sanity as she visits her sister, Stella, and her sister\u2019s husband, Stanley, at their seedy apartment in New Orleans. Several of our Get Lit! staff members went to see the play at the Spokane Civic Theatre on Thursday, November 3, along with the unofficial <a href=\"http:\/\/getlitfestival.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/IMG_5455.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-3406 size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/getlitfestival.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/IMG_5455-e1478551482291-282x300.jpg\" alt=\"img_5455\" width=\"282\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a>MFA program mascot, Phillip. The play was a bit stressful for Phillip due to the loud noises (as well as several cat sounds that were very upsetting) but the humans in attendance had a wonderful time. The play\u2019s small cast was incredible to watch\u2014the actors gave amazing performances and had great chemistry on stage, not to mention the masterful set and stage effects. I went out for a drink afterwards and was talking about it with some friends, one of whom said, \u201cthat\u2019s how you know a play was good, it leaves you thinking and talking about it long after it\u2019s over.\u201d Get out and see <em>A Streetcar Named Desire<\/em> at the Spokane Civic Theatre before it\u2019s too late!
