DESCRIPTION:The first visiting writer of the year will be here Friday\, October 25\, 2024. Poet\, Alexandra Teague will be visiting us to workshop EWU MFA poets in CAT 302 from 3-5pm. \nAlexandra Teague’s most recent book is [ominous music intensifying] (Persea 2024). She is also the author of Spinning Tea Cups: A Mythical American Memoir (Oregon State University Press\, 2023)\, recent runner-up for the Idaho Book of the Year award. She is previously the author of three books of poetry—Or What We’ll Call Desire\, The Wise and Foolish Builders and Mortal Geography—and the novel The Principles Behind Flotation\, as well as co-editor of Bullets into Bells: Poets & Citizens Respond to Gun Violence. A former Stegner Fellow and NEA recipient\, she is a professor at University of Idaho\, where she co-directs the MFA program.
