Audrey Lane Cockett

Audrey Lane Cockett is a poet, performer, educator, artistic director, and park naturalist based in Treaty 7 Land in Alberta, Canada. Her work is rooted in the wild, both outside and in. Through her work in education, film, and poetry she is a passionate advocate for mental health awareness, social equality, love, and care for the natural world.

Audrey Lane’s unique background in both art and science informs her work, as does her experience as a queer disabled woman. She weaves science, art, and love together to deepen understandings, strengthen communities, improve education, and facilitate connections between humans and the natural world.

Her poetry has been published in Canada and abroad. Her films have been featured in Arts Festivals and Ecological Conferences alike. She has performed nationally and internationally, and participated in residencies such as the Spoken Word Program at Banff Centre for the Arts.

Audrey Lane is invested in exploring art and its intersections with science, community, learning, healing, and transformation.
