This requirement is based upon NWCCU standard 2.C.2: \u201cThe institution identifies and publishes expected course, program, and degree learning outcomes. Expected student learning outcomes for courses, wherever offered and however delivered, are provided in written form to enrolled students.\u201d NWCCU based this standard upon the Higher Education Act\u2019s requirements that the criteria for measuring quality of education must include an appropriate measure or measures of student achievement and the standards for accreditation must include assessment of the institution\u2019s success with respect to student achievement. The NWCCU refers to student achievement as student learning outcomes.<\/p>\n\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"gb-container gb-container-25d6b18c gb-accordion__item\" Program and Course Management, 303-35 requires that \u201cFaculty must provide sufficient information and detail in syllabi to establish that the minimum amount of work expected of students is consistent with the assignment of credit hours to the course.\u201d<br><a href=\"https:\/\/inside.ewu.edu\/policies\/knowledge-base\/ap-303-35-program-and-course-management\/\">https:\/\/inside.ewu.edu\/policies\/knowledge-base\/ap-303-35-program-and-course-management\/<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Section 7.8.2 of the CBA: Faculty are responsible for informing students of \u201cthe course content, texts, readings, assignments, attendance regulations and methods of evaluation including This classroom is a place for intellectual inquiry, open dialogue, and a commitment to academic integrity. As such, all members of our community are expected to conduct themselves in a manner that supports these goals.<\/em><em><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Disruptive behavior is any conduct that unreasonably interferes with the instructor&#8217;s ability to teach or other students&#8217; ability to learn. This includes, but is not limited to:<\/em><em><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><em>Repeatedly arriving late or leaving early in a way that is disruptive to the class.<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><em>Engaging in private conversations or using electronic devices for non-class activities (e.g., texting, social media, browsing unrelated websites).<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><em>Making offensive, harassing, or threatening remarks.<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><em>Arguing with the instructor or other students in a way that shuts down discussion.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Disruptive conduct violates classroom standards as well as EWU\u2019s Student Conduct Code. If a student is disruptive in class, I will take the following steps:<\/em><em><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><em><u>Initial Disruption:<\/u><\/em><em>\u00a0If a student&#8217;s behavior is disruptive, I will first attempt to address the issue directly with the student, either during or after class. This may involve a private conversation to understand the situation and clarify expectations for classroom conduct.<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><em><u>Repeated or Escalated Disruption:<\/u><\/em><em>\u00a0If the behavior continues or escalates, I may ask the student to leave the classroom for the remainder of the class session.
