SUMMARY:New Faculty Workshop 4: Transparent Teaching
DESCRIPTION:Please join us at the Faculty Commons\, or via Zoom\, for the fourth New Faculty Workshop: Transparent Teaching\, facilitated by and Dr. Justin Young\, Associate Professor and Director of English Composition Program & Writers’ Center and Dr. Liya Deng\, Assistant Professor\, Library. \nThis workshop will focus on designing clearer\, more equitable assignments for your students. To this end\, please bring hard copies of an assignment you have used or will use in one of your classes\, along with a laptop\, if possible. You will have a chance to begin revising this assignment during the workshop according to the principles of Transparent Teaching. Participants will develop objectives- and outcomes-based assignments that clearly articulate for students the necessary knowledge\, skills\, and tasks associated with course success. \nFriday\, February 23\, 2018\n11a – 1p\nFaculty Commons or via Zoom \n\nFor faculty and staff on the Spokane Campus you may attend the workshop in SEWC 131 where the event will be livestreamed (one-way\, not interactive).\nThe livestream of this event may also be accessed individually on any device via Zoom. \nTo access Zoom\, go to https://zoom.us/join and input the Faculty Common’s Meeting ID#: 946-833-6002. \nThe Zoom app is also available for free download if you wish to access the workshop this way instead.\nZoom livestreaming will become available at the start of the workshop. \n\nPowerPoint [Transparent Teaching]
