DESCRIPTION:December’s Meeting Cancelled\nThanks to everyone who attended the first EWUIFA meeting in November. We got to learn some fun things about faculty members who were in attendance\, plus engage in robust discussion. December’s meeting is cancelled to allow faculty time to grade\, travel\, and be with family. EWUIFA meetings will resume on January 14th. Enjoy your break! \nJanuary’s Topic for discussion:\nNavigating the Challenges of Immigration and VISAS for International Faculty \nPlease come prepared to share your thoughts and ideas about the ways EWU can better assist international faculty with the unique challenges they face concerning immigration and VISAS. Ideas will be compiled and presented to administrators to clarify the university’s position and responsibility toward international faculty\, as well as to articulate the kinds of assistance that are available for this community. \n  \nThe EWU International Faculty Association\, sponsored by the Faculty Commons\, meets informally on the 2nd Friday of each month from 3-5 pm. This informal association addresses the needs of international faculty members by providing a space and time to meet\, socialize\, exchange ideas\, share challenges\, receive feedback\, eat\, etc. Attendees may decide whether to have an agenda or not. Speakers and events through FC may also be scheduled according to the desires of the group. If members just want to hang out that is fine\, as well.
