Continuing Medical Education – Introduction to Intellectual Disabilities

The Eastern Washington AHEC is thrilled to partner with Special Olympics of Washington to offer their course Introduction to Intellectual Disabilities for CME credit.

The AAFP has reviewed Introduction to Intellectual Disabilities and deemed it acceptable for up to 0.75 Enduring Materials, Self-Study AAFP Prescribed credits. Term of Approval is from 12/15/2021 to 12/14/2022. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

The learning objectives for Introduction to Intellectual Disabilities are:

  • Define and describe intellectual disability
  • Communicate effectively with individuals with intellectual disabilities in a clinical setting
  • Address the health needs and explain the causes for unmet needs of individuals with intellectual disabilities

To claim your CME credit, please send your Certificate of Completion from the Special Olympics site to Jeff Wieck (jwieck@ewu.edu).
