The CDC recommends that adults get at least seven hours of sleep a night.<\/p>\n<p>Missing out on sleep can cause a number of health problems<!--more--> including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Increased blood pressure<\/li>\n<li>Decreased immune function<\/li>\n<li>Increased rates of depression and anxiety<\/li>\n<li>Decreased concentration and memory<\/li>\n<li>Increased risk of medical conditions such as:\n<ul>\n<li>Stroke<\/li>\n<li>Diabetes<\/li>\n<li>Cancer<\/li>\n<li>Heart disease<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Sleep deprivation also increases hunger levels, which can lead to poor eating habits and the dreaded Freshman 15.<\/p>\n<p>If that isn&#8217;t bad enough, studies have shown that driving while sleep deprived is the same as driving drunk.
