Here are some suggestions for your workspace and practices:<\/p>\n<p>Take frequent breaks.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Look away from your screen and focus on something 20 feet away every 20 minutes.<\/li>\n<li>Stand up and walk around every hour; get some water or walk around the block.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Make sure your screen is level with your eyes so you don&#8217;t have to look down.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Prop up your laptop, use items around your house like boxes or books.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Keep your keyboard and mouse at elbow height.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Once your laptop is propped up, use an external keyboard and mouse.<\/li>\n<li>Roll up a dishtowel or t-shirt to protect your arms from hard surfaces and edges<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Sit up straight and keep your back and feet supported.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Sit all the way back in your chair<\/li>\n<li>Use an office chair when possible<\/li>\n<li>Roll up a towel or piece of clothing and put it behind your back if you need some lumbar support.<\/li>\n<li>Use a box or step stool if your feet don&#8217;t sit flat on the floor.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Here are a few references for home ergonomics:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/ehs.ucsc.edu\/programs\/ergo\/documents\/laptop-ergonomics.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Are you using your laptop unsafely?<\/span><\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bu.edu\/articles\/2020\/10-ergonomics-dos-and-donts-for-those-now-working-from-home\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">10 Ergonomics Dos and Don\u2019ts for Those Now Working from Home<\/span><\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.humantech.com\/dont-work-from-the-couch-tips-to-improve-your-home-office\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Don&#8217;t Work from the Couch!
