What is the Teacher of the Month Program?
The Teacher of the Month Program is a collaboration between Eastern Washington University's Education Department, KHQ Local News, and Spokane Teachers Credit Union to recognize local teachers for their excellence. Each month one teacher is selected and representatives of the Education Department, KHQ, and STCU will visit the winning teacher's school to celebrate.
Nominations are accepted from a student, a group of students, or parents of students (although we especially encourage letters from the student(s) directly whenever possible).
Who Can be Nominated?
Any teacher in an elementary, middle or high school in Washington State or North Idaho is eligible.
How Can I Nominate My Teacher?
Nominating your teacher is easy! Please complete the form below and submit when finished. You will receive a copy of your submission as confirmation your form was received. For our young writers, please ask an adult for help completing the form.
If your teacher is selected, the Education Department will connect with the school where your nominee teaches to make arrangements so that we can make the nomination a surprise! If you have the information available, it is helpful for you to provide the name and email of the school principal, or another school contact.
