Who will know about my disability?

07/29/2020 by Disability Support Services (DSS)

All documents which Student Accommodations and Support Services collects are regarded with strict confidentiality. Student Accommodations and Support Services does not reveal the condition or diagnosis of any student registered and/or verified with us.

Once the student is assigned accommodations on MyDSS, the student should meet with each professor to discuss their new accommodations. It is the responsibility of the student to meet with the professor at the start of the quarter and discuss their accommodations. Once the student identifies to the professor, the professor can log in to the Faculty Portal on MyDSS to view students' accommodation.

How can I find out what my accommodations are?

07/29/2020 by Disability Support Services (DSS)

Once the student has met with out accommodations specialist and the disability and its functional limitations are verified, SASS provides information about the various reasonable modifications which address the student’s functional limitations.

The student then chooses the reasonable accommodations that best apply in a given course or semester.

If the student would like to know what their accommodations are afterwards, they can log in to MyDSS to view their accommodations. Once the student logs in, this can be found on the left hand side under “My Eligibility”.

We do NOT allow the following to be brought in with you in the testing room: backpacks, hats (beanies, snap-backs etc.), any outer layer  (winter coat, windbreaker etc.), watches (both analog and smart), keys, phones, wallets, gloves, pencil bags, listening devices, items not specified/ authorized by professor, food and drink of any kind.
