We compare those who responded to outreach (\u201cOutreach Support Given\u201d) with those who did not (\u201cNo Response to Outreach\u201d).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Students who engage with outreach consistently show higher retention than those who do not. Our next step is to expand response rates so more students benefit from this proactive support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center\" style=\"font-size:32px\"><strong><mark gb-headline-text\">FTIC (First Time In College) cases are generally 25-30% of all cases<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center has-ewu-dark-red-color has-text-color\" style=\"font-size:32px\"><strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-ewu-red-color\">Retention Results<\/mark><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>On average, students who engaged with Early Warning outreach were<mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-ewu-dark-gray-color\"> <strong>about 13 percentage points more likely<\/strong> to stay enrolled than peers who did not engage. Across five years of data, this equates to approximately <strong>528 additional students retained<\/strong>, generating about <strong>$4.57 million in additional tuition revenue<\/strong>. <\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Even a modest investment in proactive outreach yields a strong return, reinforcing that early intervention and personalized support make a measurable fiscal and student success impact.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"gb-container gb-container-76ac5cd2\"><div class=\"gb-inside-container\">\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-ewu-red-color\">Alerts<\/mark><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Alerts allow any faculty\/staff member to inform the system by creating an alert to draw attention to a student who may be showing signs of needing support or to give recognition to a student who is doing well (positive reinforcement goes a long way!). <\/p>\n\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"gb-container gb-container-91fb1511\"><div class=\"gb-inside-container\">\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-ewu-red-color\">Cases<\/mark><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Cases are Alerts that are viewed as having a higher level of urgency and require support staff or an advisor to contact the student. Support staff will connect with the student and see what can be done to help identify and resolve the issue. Currently all of our alert reasons open a case except for our positive alert &#8220;Recognition for a job well done.&#8221; This alert sends an email to students and does not require staff outreach. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cases are automatically assigned to the appropriate support staff. Alerts that do not elevate to a Case generate a support email sent to the student including links to campus resources such as PLUS, Counseling and Wellness, Student Support and Accommodations (SASS) , Financial Aid and the Bursar&#8217;s Office, etc.<\/p>\n\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"gb-container gb-container-af5e36be\"><div class=\"gb-inside-container\">\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-ewu-red-color\">Progress Reports<\/mark><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Progress Reports are another way of informing the Early Warning System. This component allows administrators to proactively request feedback from faculty on individual student performance in specific courses or for specific groups of students e.g. student athletes or students enrolled in CAMP, or at-risk student groups.<\/p>\n\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"gb-container gb-container-fea7394e\"><div class=\"gb-inside-container\">\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-ewu-red-color\">Ad-Hoc Alerts or Standalone Alerts<\/mark><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>An ad-hoc or standalone alert is not the same as a progress report. This can be issued by any person with access to Navigate360 Staff on any student at any time. The same alert reasons are available and the outreach guidelines are the same. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-ewu-red-color\">What happens when I issue an alert? <\/mark><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Students are contacted by the appropriate support unit. Most academic concerns (about 80%) are routed to professional advisors in the Center for Academic Advising and Retention (CAAR). Advisors reach out by text and phone multiple times over a two-week period to connect with students and address the concern. While not all students respond, about 65% do, ensuring meaningful support for the majority. All alert issuers receive a case closure email once outreach is complete. Some closure emails may include comments or updates, while others may not due to the sensitive or confidential nature of student information.<\/p>\n\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"gb-container gb-container-3c82a151\"><div class=\"gb-inside-container\">\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-ewu-red-color\">Hand Raise<\/mark><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n<div class=\"gb-container gb-container-317c9857\"><div class=\"gb-inside-container\">\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-1 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-vertically-aligned-center is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:66.66%\">\n<p>A Navigate360 Student feature, \u201cHand Raise\u201d, allows students to ask for help in the Navigate360 Student mobile application and is tied to the existing Early Warning System.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here are the specific ways that students can raise their hand and ask for help:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>I need tutoring<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>I need to declare or change my major<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>I need help with housing, food, or clothing<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>I am feeling stressed and overwhelmed<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>I need to report bullying, discrimination, or misconduct<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>With each alert, the students will receive information and\/or staff outreach to address to their specific needs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Our effort to meet students\u2019 needs is a partnership with Program Leading to University Success (PLUS), Student Accommodations and Support Services (SASS), Financial Aid, and the Degree Completion Team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><\/h2>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-vertically-aligned-center is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:33.33%\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/inside.ewu.edu\/advising\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/378\/2023\/04\/My-project-1-1-576x1024.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-6106\" style=\"width:288px;height:512px\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"gb-grid-column gb-grid-column-8f761725\"><div class=\"gb-container gb-container-8f761725\"><div class=\"gb-inside-container\">\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center\" style=\"font-size:28px\"><strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-ewu-red-color\">Advising Knowledge Base:<\/mark><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n<div class=\"gb-button-wrapper gb-button-wrapper-92eaed14\">\n\n<a class=\"gb-button gb-button-a992e3c7 gb-button-text\" href=\"https:\/\/inside.ewu.edu\/advising\/advising-knowledge-base\/types-of-alerts\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">About Alerts &amp;
