EWU Food Pantry<\/a><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The EWU Food Pantry Program aims to alleviate hunger and foster a healthy and inclusive community by providing access to nutritious food. All members of the EWU community are invited to take what they need. The Interactive Campus Map <\/a>can be used to locate food pantry locations on campus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Greenhouse<\/a><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Provides an information and referral service for the North County. Provides a free clothing bank, Deer Park food bank, emergency services, counseling services, furniture, and household items. GED program also available.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SNAP<\/a><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

SNAP (aka: EBT, Food Stamps) is a government program that provides low-income families with funds for grocery shopping. See if you qualify and apply at https:\/\/www.washingtonconnection.org<\/a> or by calling 1.877.501.2233.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

WIC<\/a><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

WIC provides free groceries for pregnant and breastfeeding mothers, and for children under the age of five. Additionally they offer nutrition counseling, and breastfeeding support.

2nd Harvest<\/a><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

2nd Harvest has a mobile \u201cmarket\u201d that travels around Spokane County (including to Cheney) offering a free grocery shopping experience to anyone in need. They also have a food bank locator on their website. For more information please visit 2-harvest.org<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n

My Choice Baby Boutique<\/a><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

This free boutique is open Monday \u2013 Thursday 9am \u2013 5pm at our Ash Street location (2659 N Ash, Spokane WA 99205). No appointment necessary! Items available include: Baby clothes 0-12mo, Blankets, Diapers in all sizes, Wipes, Formula, Baby Food, Books, Diaper Bags, Toys, and Nursing items<\/p>\n\n\n\n

YWCA Sister’s Closet<\/a><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Free clothing, makeup, and personal hygiene items for women. YWCA Sister\u2019s Closet will even help you put together appropriate outfits for interviews, work, school, or court. Email oursisterscloset@ywcaspokane.org for more information.<\/p>\n\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n

CHAS<\/a><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

CHAS will help see if you qualify for and sign you up for free state health insurance<\/strong>. CHAS accepts state health insurance for medical, and dental. CHAS has several Spokane offices as well as one located in Cheney. Call 509.444.8888 to find your nearest location and make an appointment. Additionally CHAS offers confidential behavioral, and mental health services with low income options. Please call their outreach team at 509.998.1667, or visit one of their many location.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

EWU Counseling and Wellness<\/a><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

EWU Counseling and Wellness services supports and empowers student wellbeing, growth and development through education, information and positive role-modeling. Staff and peer health educators support students in developing a balanced and healthy lifestyle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

EWU Optional Student Health Insurance<\/a><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Eastern Washington University is offering an optional student medical insurance. Domestic students taking 10 credits or more are eligible to purchase this plan (domestic students who are registered for summer term must have three or more credit hours on-campus). Insured students who are enrolled in the optional insurance may also enroll their spouses and\/or dependents<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Multicare Rockwood<\/a><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Current EWU students, who are enrolled in six or more credits (must opt-in if you want summer coverage), receive free walk-in clinic and primary<\/strong> care appointments at MultiCare Rockwood. To schedule an appointment please call 509.233.5102. Multicare Rockwood has locations in both Spokane and Cheney.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Providence – Sacred Heart Medical Center<\/a><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Providence offers world-class medical care close to home. Ask about their financial assistance program.<\/p>\n\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n

Crisis Shelter.  Free. A long-term residential program for women and women with children (boys under 10).  Offers counseling groups, life skills classes, educational\/vocational learning center, parenting classes, personal enrichment opportunities, fun activities, exercise, diet and nutrition, case management, opportunities for health management and medical care.  Admission process requires attending orientation held at Anna Ogden Hall most Fridays – call 509-327-7737<\/a> to RSVP.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hope House Spokane Women’s Shelter<\/a><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Hope House offers safety from the dangerous streets to any woman. Hope House offers an environment of dignity, respect and compassion that honors the intrinsic value and unique experience of every woman. 100 shelter beds are available each night. Each woman receives personal care including: nutritious food, a hot shower clean, clean and dry clothing, hygiene items, a warm bed, onsite case management, resource information, connection to permanent housing, and referrals to community resources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

House of Charity<\/a><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Since 1958, the House of Charity (HOC) has accepted anyone in any condition, including those suffering from mental illnesses and addiction. The HOC provides emergency services including meals, shelter, and case management to an underserved population of homeless, transient, and poor men and women in the Spokane area while ensuring preservation of individual dignity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Salvation Army Family Emergency Shelter<\/a><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Helping Families in Crisis!  12 fully furnished, self-contained, studio units for homeless families with children, or couples without children. Participants can stay for up to 90 days while working with a case manager, attending monthly Life Skills classes, working to increase their income and looking for appropriate, affordable housing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Spokane Housing Authority<\/a><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

St. Margaret’s Shelter<\/a><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

St. Margaret\u2019s ensures that families coming from homelessness, incarceration or drug treatment or fleeing domestic violence have safe, warm and welcoming living spaces that provide dignity. We offer stabilization services that are driven by the families we serve and provide housing and vocational experts to assist families with resources and connections to community partners and programs. Our goal is to serve as a brief stop that helps families\u2019 on their path toward moving in to their permanent, new home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
