The FWP team accomplishes this by making certified Financial Peer Mentors available for one-on-one mentoring. The peer mentors aim to work with students to increase their financial literacy and provide guidance in practical application.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" style=\"font-size:24px\"><a href=\"https:\/\/cm.maxient.com\/reportingform.php?EasternWashingtonUniv&amp;layout_id=6\">EWU Student Emergency Fund<\/a><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The Student Emergency Fund (SEF) provides limited, one time, financial assistance when you are unable to meet immediate, essential expenses because of a temporary emergency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" style=\"font-size:24px\"><a href=\"https:\/\/inside.ewu.edu\/saas\/financial-literacy\/money-matters\/\">Money Matters<\/a><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Money Matters is a free online financial literacy program that will cover topics like the basics of budgeting all the way to understanding your credit score. With plenty of 5-10 minute modules, you will become financial savvy in no time!<\/p>\n\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"gb-grid-column gb-grid-column-d585a3a0\"><div class=\"gb-container gb-container-d585a3a0\">\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Legal Assistance<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" style=\"font-size:24px\"><a href=\"https:\/\/nwjustice.org\/home\">Northwest Justice Project<\/a><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Northwest Justice Project (NJP) provides free legal assistance to address fundamental human needs such as housing, family safety, income security, health care, education, and more. Many moderate income clients in need of legal services cannot afford a full-fee attorney, yet do not qualify for free civil legal aid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The statewide Moderate Means Program strives to bridge that gap with reduced-fee assistance in legal cases involving family, housing, consumer, and unemployment issues that is scaled to the client\u2019s income. The Moderate Means Program connects moderate-income clients with a family, housing, consumer, and\/or unemployment legal issue with legal professionals willing to represent them at a reduced rate.<\/p>\n\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"gb-grid-column gb-grid-column-eb9d129d\"><div class=\"gb-container gb-container-eb9d129d\">\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Pet Resources<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" style=\"font-size:24px\"><a href=\"https:\/\/gscmealsonwheels.org\/artful-aging\/pet-parent\/\">Greater Spokane County Meals on Wheels<\/a><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>AniMeals Program makes sure everyone is served nutritious food.&nbsp; They know that pets are part of the family, so GSC Meals on Wheels makes sure they provide for two and four-legged participants, so everyone stays healthy and happy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" style=\"font-size:24px\"><a href=\"https:\/\/spokanehumanesociety.org\/vet-clinic\/\">Spokane Humane Society Vet Clinic<\/a><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Offers pet spaying\/neutering, vaccinations, microchipping, affordable veterinary services, and a pet food bank to low-income pet owners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" style=\"font-size:24px\"><a href=\"https:\/\/redrover.org\/relief\/urgent-care-grants\/\">Urgent Care Grant by Red Rover<\/a><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Provides financial assistance, resources, and emotional support to pet guardians struggling with economic hardship. The average grant is around $250, and is intended to fill a small gap in funding that is keeping an animal from care.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" style=\"font-size:24px\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cceasternwa.org\/pets\">Vet Clinic at DHH&nbsp;<\/a><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Catholic Charities offers a volunteer-operated veterinary clinic that provides free and low-cost veterinary services for pet owners.<\/p>\n\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"gb-grid-column gb-grid-column-85664f13\"><div class=\"gb-container gb-container-85664f13\">\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Resources for Parenting Students<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" style=\"font-size:24px\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dcyf.wa.gov\/services\/earlylearning-childcare\/eceap-headstart\">ECEAP &amp; Head Start Preschool<\/a><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Free early learning child care or preschool to support child&#8217;s development and learning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" style=\"font-size:24px\"><a href=\"https:\/\/ymcainw.org\/locations\/ewu-childrens-center\/\">EWU Children&#8217;s Center<\/a><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>EWU Student receive a discounted rate and priority registration. Care is offered for children 6 weeks to 10 years, including ECEAP for 3-4 year olds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" style=\"font-size:24px\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ewu.edu\/apply\/visit-ewu\/maps\/\">Nursing Mother Rooms<\/a><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Nursing Mother Rooms are provided across the Eastern Washington University Campus. They can be located using the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ewu.edu\/apply\/visit-ewu\/maps\/\">Interactive Campus Map<\/a>. If a room is locked please go to the building&#8217;s desk and they will unlock it for you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" style=\"font-size:24px\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.vanessabehan.org\/about\/\">Vanessa Behan<\/a><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Vanessa Behan helps parents who are having difficulty providing safe shelter and care for their children. They may be dealing with issues as complex as substance abuse, domestic violence and homelessness. Or, they may just be exhausted and worn-out from the demands of parenting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" style=\"font-size:24px\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dcyf.wa.gov\/services\/earlylearning-childcare\/getting-help\/wccc\">WA Working Connections Childcare Assistance<\/a><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>WCCC provides childcare subsidies to low-income families in Washington State.
