A scheduling unit is a group of courses that are scheduled together. For many institutions, scheduling units are defined as departments or subjects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The scheduling unit screen can be used to add, edit, and remove sections from a course.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>View By<\/strong> &#8211; View sections by course, instructor, day and time, or room<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Expand All Arrows<\/strong> &#8211; View all sections under a course<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Collapse All Arrows<\/strong> &#8211; Hide all sections under a course<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Green + Plus Button <\/strong>&#8211; Add Section<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Red X Button<\/strong> &#8211; Delete all Sections under a course<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Grey X Button<\/strong> &#8211; Delete individual Sections under a course<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Show Courses With No Sections<\/strong> &#8211; Checking Displays Courses that do not have sections created.\u00a0 By default, only Courses with Sections appear on the Scheduling Unit Screen.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Adding a New Section<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Navigate to the <strong>CLSS Instances screen<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Click <\/strong>to open an instance<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Double-click<\/strong> to open a scheduling unit<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Double-click<\/strong> the course to view sections within<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click the <strong>green plus button<\/strong> to the right of a course to add a section<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Edit the section with the <a href=\"https:\/\/luc.courseleaf.com\/help\/clss\/offeringeditor\"><strong>Section Editor<\/strong><\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click <strong>Save<\/strong>, or click <strong>Close <\/strong>to close <em>without saving<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Video can be found here: <a href=\"https:\/\/ewu.hosted.panopto.com\/Panopto\/Pages\/Viewer.aspx?id=0d838a6f-3bd8-464b-b2bd-b06601639adc&amp;start=0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">How to Manually Add a Section<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Copying a Section Using Framer Tool<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Navigate to your <strong><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/cpac.ewu.edu\/wen\/\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/cpac.ewu.edu\/wen\/\" target=\"_blank\">CLSS landing page<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select a Term<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select a scheduling unit<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click <strong>Framer<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click the <strong>View drop-down button<\/strong> and select <strong>standard<\/strong> or <strong>detail.<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Standard<\/strong> &#8211; summary information and instructor name<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Detail<\/strong> &#8211; standard information and the day and time offered<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select a section by hovering over a previous Term marked as Historical (H) and\/or is in the Archive phase.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A red box will surround the section<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click on the <strong>red box<\/strong> to duplicate the available information from this section for the current Term.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>&nbsp;<strong>Note<\/strong><em>: The duplicated section will attempt to include all available information from the original section, such as instructor and times<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><em>Unavailable items will not be duplicated, such as if the instructor is no longer able to teach in that Term<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Make any changes to the section in the Section Editor.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click <strong>Save Section.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Video can be found here: <a href=\"https:\/\/ewu.hosted.panopto.com\/Panopto\/Pages\/Viewer.aspx?id=84905188-df1a-4ee5-afd2-b060010cddf7&amp;start=0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Creating a Section using the Framer Tool<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Adding Instructors<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Instructor widget on the Section Editor allows you to add one or more instructors to a section.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Navigate to the <strong>CLSS Term screen<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select a Term<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select a scheduling unit<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Double-click a course to view sections&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Double-click a section to open the section editor<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click the <strong>instructor drop-down menu<\/strong> and select the first instructor<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Use the <strong>green plus icon <\/strong>to add an additional instructor\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Other fields may also be available, such as Role or % Responsible\u2014complete accordingly<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Use the <strong>up<\/strong> and <strong>down arrow icons<\/strong> to move the instructor in the classroom the most to the top with the blue star.
