I love the rhythms of the academic year. We gear up with anticipation each fall as students fill our classrooms with their energy and enthusiasm; we end the year with graduation ceremonies and celebrations of student achievements.
I was deeply saddened and disturbed to learn about racially charged acts of vandalism in the Cheney community this week. This behavior is not acceptable.

Dear Campus Community: As we continue our budget realignment process, I’m writing today to help answer some questions that faculty and staff have been asking. As you know, divisions across campus have been asked to establish strategic goals aligned with university priorities and to begin budget planning for both state and self-support funds. Each executive level will submit a budget plan in accordance with a 3% realignment goal by January 17, 2020. Amazingly, we’re already past Halloween and heading into the holidays. Every month at EWU goes by in a whirlwind. October was no exception.
