MEET THE DIRECTOR:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rocio Rangel is a proud daughter of farm working parents and proud CAMP alumna (St. Edward’s University CAMP Class of \u201902). She has worked with the farm working population and access to higher education for over 10 years. Rocio has profound respect and gratitude to the CAMP program for opening the doors to her professional career and for greatly influencing the person she is today. Because of this first-hand knowledge she personally knows of the positive influence CAMP has on each of its students. As the CAMP Project Director for Eastern Washington University, she is honored and humbled by the work ahead in establishing this program and meeting the needs of 1st generation farm working students attending EWU.<\/em><\/p>\n\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n

MEET THE RETENTION SPECIALIST:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Brooke Nicholson is an EWU alumna who earned a B.A. in English\/Technical Writing in ’09 and a Master’s Degree in History ’22. She is from Malott, WA and is a member of the Colville Confederated Tribes. She has worked at EWU for five years serving students because that is the best part about working at a university. Previously she worked at two non-profits in Spokane. Her favorite thing to do to relax is to walk her pug with her husband.<\/p>\n\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n

Kenia Soto is an EWU alumna who earned a B.S. in Applied Developmental Psychology. She is from Pasco, Washington, and a first-generation Mexican American student. She is excited to support and guide students as they embark on their educational journey. Kenia enjoys time with her dog and traveling. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

MEET THE PROGRAM ASSISTANT<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jane Ratzer is glad to be back in Spokane, having lived in the Denver area for years after studying Spanish and Political Science at Gonzaga University. She coordinates EWU’s Dare to Dream summer program that serves and encourages migrant high school students and develops community engagement for CAMP scholars’ career exploration opportunities. She previously worked in the international business, mainly in Mexico and Latin America and enjoyed going back to school in the 40s to earn an MA in Spanish at University of Colorado Denver. Jane is delighted to be working with CAMP and potential CAMP students.
