In an effort to expand our ability to meet students’ needs, all Division of Student Affairs offices collectively worked on expanding their capacity around mental health. For the 2019-20 academic year, each department developed a SLO or PO around mental health or student wellbeing. Most of these outcomes relate to building capacity of professional staff and student staff through increased training. The capacity building included:
- Mental Health First Aid training
- Question, Persuade, Refer Suicide Prevention Gatekeeper training
- Responding to Distressed Students Training
- Various other mental health training
- Creation and dissemination of materials to students
- Delivery of training
Highlights from these initiatives and mental health/wellbeing services to students are illustrated in the infographic below.
