The Office for Diversity and Inclusion is pleased to announce we will be hosting monthly workshops open to all of campus. We will provide a variety of topics relevant to campus life in an effort to serve each other better and create an inclusive environment.
We are kicking this series off with Workshop on Workplace Diversity on Wednesday, July 24, 2019 from noon-1:30pm in Tawanka 215 B/C, presented by Kim Davis and Marilyn Dreis.
We will discuss:
- Identities that make up diversity in the workforce, including protected classes
- Why diversity, equity and inclusion are important as they relate to our EWU goals
- Structural issues that exist on our campus and nation-wide that hinder equity
- Strategies for creating an inclusive environment that promotes equity
