Eastern Washington University’s dominance in the annual Bloomsday Corporate Cup took a step further into the record books Sunday, May 5.

Additional Information:

Not only did the EWU RED team take home its record 23rd consecutive overall Corporate Cup title, but EWU WOMEN finished just a few points behind them in second place, recording the highest finish ever for a women’s team in Bloomsday Corporate Cup competition.

The historic finish by EWU WOMEN also included first place in the Women’s Division. The team included EWU President Mary Cullinan, as well as fellow running enthusiasts Annika Scharosch, Laurie Morley, Rachel Toor and Mikayla Brandhorst. They finished with a total 2,996 points out of a possible 3,000 points.

EWU RED, meanwhile, raced to victory by scoring 3,000 points and were led by the usual suspects – John Collins, Carl Combs, Jeff Corkill, Dave Millet and Grant Smith.

Spokane’s Bloomsday held its first Corporate Cup in 1982, which pits organizations of five team members against other organizations of similar size in the 12k race. Scores are based on the time and age bracket of the top three finishers from each team.

The EWU RED winning streak started in 1997.
