Eastern Washington University will conduct a public hearing on proposed amendments to WAC 172-191-050, Chapter 172-121 WAC, and Chapter 172-108 WAC.

The purpose of the hearing is to allow people an opportunity to present their views, either orally or in writing, on the proposed changes.

The hearing will take place at 9 a.m. on Dec. 8, 2020 via a ZOOM meeting. Interested persons may join the hearing at: https://ewu.zoom.us/j/91923365877.

Proposed rule changes include:

WAC 172-191-050, Obtaining Copies of Records, is being modified to remove language indicating that a transcript may be withheld if a student has outstanding debts owed to the university.

Chapter 172-121 WAC, Student Conduct Code, is being modified to revise the definition of a “formal Title IX complaint” and to limit the ability of parties to subpoena one another in Title IX cases.

Chapter 172-108 WAC, Adjudicative Proceedings, is being modified to reflect that Title IX employment hearings are considered a type of formal adjudicative proceeding, to update the list of what decisions can be challenged in a brief adjudicative proceeding and to update contact information for University Policy Administration.
