Robert Friedman to lead College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences

EWU Provost Brian Levin-Stankevich has announced that Robert Friedman, PhD, has agreed to serve as interim dean of the College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences beginning in July.  Friedman earned his doctorate in American Literature from CUNY Graduate Center. He spent 18 years at New Jersey Institute of Technology in various roles including associate dean and chair of the Department of Humanities.

Friedman subsequently served as professor and director, Institute of Technology, with an appointment in Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences at UW-Tacoma, thereafter becoming dean, College of Humanities and Social Sciences at Montclair State University (NJ).

After retiring, he served as interim dean, College of Arts and Letters, at Northern Arizona University.

Friedman will begin his service at EWU on July 12.
