There will be two modalities to choose from &#8211; virtual (online students only via Zoom) and on campus in Monroe Hall, room 302.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"gb-container gb-container-b0aad2d7\"><div class=\"gb-inside-container\">\n<div class=\"gb-grid-wrapper gb-grid-wrapper-4e3892cf\">\n<div class=\"gb-grid-column gb-grid-column-52802085\"><div class=\"gb-container gb-container-52802085\"><div class=\"gb-inside-container\">\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>What to Expect<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-ewu-red-color\"><strong>Academic Advising Workshops<\/strong><\/mark> will play an essential role in supporting student transition to campus by helping them to become informed on:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>How to explore their academic interests and career goals;&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>How to plan their first year of courses and utilize academic tools (Navigate, DegreeWorks, EagleNet, etc).;&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>How to prepare for and use the EWU registration system;&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Relevant policies and procedures;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>How to connect with appropriate campus support services;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Key priority dates; and<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Other pertinent information.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Together with the above stated, these workshops aim to help students to stay on track and make informed decisions when developing their academic plans and registering for classes.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These workshops are also designed to be interactive and therefore advisors will be available to help students explore their academic interests and goals; engage on ways to get involved on campus and be a part of the campus community; and support students in overcoming some of the more common challenges they may encounter during their transition to college life at Eastern Washington University.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These workshops will be held during each quarter and it is advised that students register prior to their assigned priority registration dates to ensure they are not held back from registering for classes.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Failure to attend your mandatory academic advising workshop&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Students must attend their academic advising workshop to have their registration holds removed. Therefore, failure to attend may impact students in two important ways:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Inability to register for classes once their priority registration period begins; and<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>May limit course options if students prolong their registration.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Therefore, students are strongly encouraged to&nbsp; register for a workshop well in advance of their priority registration dates to ensure they are able to register for their classes.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Who should not be registering for a Mandatory Academic Advising Workshop<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Incoming transfer students with 40 or more credits&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Returning students<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Freshmen and transfer (&lt;40 credits) students that have already completed ONE Academic Advising Workshop<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The above-mentioned students are advised to schedule a one-on-one advising session with their assigned academic advisor at the earliest time of convenience.<\/p>\n\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"gb-container gb-container-51d47aab\">\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><strong>Got questions?
