Advising Questions

How do I make an appointment with an advisor? Expand

Academic Advising

To make an appointment with an academic advisor:

  • Call Advising at 509.359.2345
  • Make an appointment at the front desk at:

Departmental Advising

To make an appointment with a departmental advisor:

  1. Visit the department's website for the main office phone number. Find your department.
  2. Or call 509.359.6200 for department contact information.
  3. Contact the department to request contact information for a departmental advisor.
Who is my advisor? Expand

You can find out two ways:

Find your advisor through InsideEWU:

  1. Login to your InsideEWU.
  2. Select EagleNET.
  3. Click on the Students tab.
  4. Find the Academic Profile section in the far left column.
  5. Select the current term from the dropdown.
  6. Your advisor's name and a link to their email address will appear at the bottom of the academic profile.

How do I contact my advisor? Expand

All appointments with academic advisors should be made by calling Advising's front desk at 509.359.2345. However, if you have a simple question, you may contact your advisor via email or phone.

All Advisors

You can find your advisor's email through the portal:

  1. Login to your InsideEWU.
  2. Select EagleNET.
  3. Click on the Students tab.
  4. Find the Academic Profile section in the far left column.
  5. Select the current term from the dropdown.
  6. Your advisor's name and a link to their email address will appear at the bottom of the academic profile.

Departmental Advisors

You can also find your instructor/professor or major advisor's contact information by directly contacting the department.

  1. Find your department.
  2. Or call 509.359.6200 for department contact information.
  3. Contact the department to request contact information or office hours for an instructor or major advisor.

Registration Questions

How do I register for classes? Expand

Only students who have confirmed their intent to enroll may register for classes. You may register with an advisor, or you may register online.

Register with an advisor

You can make an appointment with an academic advisor or departmental advisor.

To meet with an academic advisor

Students with fewer than 1 year of transfer work and those students who have not decided on a program of study will typically meet with an academic advisor in the Advising office.

Call 509.359.2345 to schedule your appointment with an advisor.

To meet with a departmental advisor

Students who have decided on a program of study should contact that department directly. Visit the department's website for the main office phone number.

Find your department.

Or call 509.359.6200 for department contact information.

Register online

  1. Login to your InsideEWU.
  2. Select EagleNET.
  3. Click on the Students tab.
  4. In the far left column, find Registration Tools.
  5. You can choose your classes and generate schedules with the Schedule Planner tool. You can use the Schedule Planner before registration opens.
  6. After generating schedules, select a schedule to send it to the Registration Cart. From the cart, you can register for your classes in one click.
  7. Alternately, you can find and add classes through the Add or Drop Classes tool.

I can't register because I have a registration hold. How can I get this lifted? Expand

This depends on which registration hold is on your account. You can view your registration holds in InsideEWU.

  • Login to your InsideEWU.
  • Select EagleNET.
  • Click on the Students tab.
  • Open the Student Records folder.
  • Select View Holds.

Each individual hold is controlled by a particular department. Contact the individual department or person in charge of each individual hold for assistance.

When is the last day to add or drop a class? Expand

See the Academic Calendar for dates and deadlines.

Adding Classes

The last day to add classes online is the 3rd day of the quarter. After this, students may add classes only with instructor signature permission on an In-Person Registration/Change Form. Submit completed forms to Records and Registration, SUT 201.

Dropping Classes

Students may drop classes online through the 5th day of the quarter. During the second week of the quarter, students may drop classes only by completing and submitting an In-Person Registration/Change Form to Records and Registration, SUT 201.

The last day to add or drop classes is the 10th day of the quarter.

Withdrawing From Classes

Students can withdraw from a course through the 7th week of the quarter.

How do I find information about a major? What classes are required for my major? Expand

Program Explorer

The Program Explorer provides an overview of each program, including sample classes, degrees offered, and career areas. Search programs by division, degree type, location and more. You can also filter programs by your skills or interests.

Through the Program Explorer, you can find links to department or program websites.

Pre-Nursing Questions

How do I make an appointment with a pre-nursing advisor? Expand

The Pre-Nursing advisor is located in the Academic Advising office. Call 509.359.2345 to make an appointment.

Other Questions

How do I apply for graduation? Expand

Find information on graduation applications, deadlines, and commencement at Records & Registration.

I didn't get a grade for my class. What should I do? Expand

If your transcript shows a 0.0, that is the grade you earned. If there is no grade posted for your class yet, check back in a day or two. Grades are posted the Wednesday following finals week, but sometimes an instructor may be delayed in submitting grades.

For grade questions, make sure to contact your instructor directly. You may find their contact information on the department website or by calling 509.359.6200.

I think there was an error with one of my grades, or I don't agree with a grade I received. What can I do? Expand

For all grading questions or concerns, make sure to contact your instructor directly. You may find their contact information on the department website or by calling 509.359.6200.

  • If there is a grading error, the instructor needs to submit a Grade Change form through Records and Registration.
  • If there was no grading error, but you feel that the grade you earned is unfair, you may submit an Intent to Appeal a Grade Form through Records and Registration, SUT 201. For detailed information and instructions, see the Grade Appeal Policy website for forms and instructions or visit Records and Registration directly in SUT 201.
